ATGW-020 Dual Band WiFi Router Gateway with PoE Switch (BLE/Zigbee Supported)
ATGW-020 adopts MediaTek’s MT7628A router-on-a-chip and enable AP (access point) router function. By adding an extra 802.11ac MediaTek MT7612E, it can be a dual-band (WiFi 2.4G/5G) concurrent IoT gateway. ATGW-020 WiFi router gateway supports both WiFi AP (Access Point) and WiFi Station mode(STA), customers are allowed to switch modes according to their needs.
As an IoT gateway, ATGW-020 can captures data from end devices that support Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth and transfers it to the cloud via Wi-Fi 2.4G/5G and Ethernet. It is an enhanced version of ATGW-040 LTE gateway with both PoE function and power adapter, which means it can be powered by a DC power supply or a network cable that supports POE.
We have FAE technical support team to help integrate the devices to your cloud. SDK/APIs will be offered. If there have some issues in the future, firmware OTA is supported.

FAQs of ATGW-020 Dual Band WiFi Router Gateway with PoE Ports
WiFi AP vs STA, what’s the difference on ATGW-020 router gateway?
Devices typically have two operating modes: Access Point Mode and Station Mode (also referred to as Client Mode). Most people would consider Station Mode (STA) to be the default WiFi device mode. It may be stationary, moving, or portable. Any WiFi device, is a station with AP mode included, technically speaking. Therefore, all stations are APs, but not all APs are stations. WiFi Access Point serves as a hub for one or more stations.
WiFi Access Point (AP, both 2.4G and 5G) mode: in this mode, the gateway works as a router. The AP SSID, AP Password and AP encryption mode are configurable by users, and users can connect to the SSID using the AP Password.
WiFi Station Mode (STA): in this mode, the gateway functions as a access point and is able to connect to a router. User can fill in the SSID and Password of the router to let gateway connect to router.
How many nodes can a single ATGW-020 PoE WiFi Router hub handle?
End devices are connected via the Zigbee protocol to transmit data can be categories into three types of network topologies, including star, mesh, and tree topologies. In theory, the Zigbee gateway could connect more than 10,000 devices in mesh topology, but after the test, ATGW-020 can handle up to 40 devices in a tree topology.
How to dock ATGW-020 and downlink devices, if my sensors are not buying from Antek? Do I have to develop firmware?
If you use standard Zigbee 3.0 or BLE protocol, end devices can directly communicate, and Antek IoT has Zigbee2MQTT and BLE2MQTT documents provided. If yours are not standardized, our FAE team can offer professional integration support and assist in firmware developing, but that’s may charged. For device integration, we have an example of developing an application to communicate with BLE5 pulse eximeters. You are welcomed to see details.
How to integrate ATGW-020 to the cloud platform?
Antek IoT will offer you integration api, or you can directly integrate with azure or AWS, Tuya cloud, or your own private platform.
Does WiFi Router have PoE?
Yes, it can employ PoE to transmit data and power the devices at the same time. Power over Ethernet (PoE) uses a single network cable to supply power and network connectivity to devices that are PoE-powered. Since it is a 2-in-1 solution, you are not limited to having your devices adjacent to an outlet.
Can I power my router with PoE?
To use DAGW-020, it is suggested to find a place with less obstacles like concrete structures and thick walls, and plug in the power adapter to activate the gateway. When the green light on the enclosure is continually on, the gateway is powered on; the router power is off, and the green light is off. When the power adapter is cut off, the PoE power can be used as well.
What does PoE means on a router?
By using Ethernet data cables instead of conventional electrical power cords and wiring, Power over Ethernet (PoE), a technology for constructing wired Ethernet local area networks (LANs), allows the electrical current required to operate each device. This has implications for both commercial settings and applications for smart homes. Instead of using electrical cable, which only provides power and necessitates separate wiring for data, PoE employs less expensive Ethernet cabling, which can transmit both power and data. Electrical wiring can stay minimal because PoE transmits both power and data over Ethernet cable, reducing the amount of wiring required.
